I Used to Be an Adventurer Like You…

…but then I took an arrow to the knee.

Or a train station platform. Or, to be very precise, the lateral force generated when you step out of a still-moving train and onto said non-moving platform.

In other words, I’ll have to skip my second-ever modern class. I don’t think the knee is really injured, but it’s been noticeably painful in the morning and has remained sore for the rest of the day. Ordinarily, I would give it a try, but we’re going on a week’s vacation to London next week and the ability to walk is very high on my to-bring list.

To be honest, I’m not even sure it was my careless step onto the platform that did the damage. When I was going down the stairs on the train, the knee didn’t hurt. A minute later, I was going down the station stairs and it did. Presumably something relevant happened in between, but maybe it’s just me confusing correlation with causation again.

Still: no modern. But jazz on Wednesday is still on, provided the knee gets its sh*t together.

So I’m still an adventurer like you, only not today. Fus ro dah-ing on.
